Global Credential Evaluators (GCE), founded in 1990 and a NACES member since 2004, does not translate and does not let applicants translate. Every educational document must be submitted in the native language together with a certified English translation, and GCE's rule on who may produce it is the same for every country it lists, the university, the Ministry of Education, or an ATA certified translator. We do not provide translations. Translations must be issued by the university or performed by the Ministry of Education or an ATA certified translator.Three acceptable sources. ATA certification is an exam credential held by individual translators; Eagle Translate holds ATA corporate membership and names the translator on the certificate, and GCE decides whether that satisfies its third source.

What a GCE evaluation requires of your documents
- All educational documents are submitted in the native language together with certified English translations.
- Translations must be issued by the university or performed by the Ministry of Education or an ATA certified translator; GCE does not provide translations and applicants may not translate their own documents.
- GCE's country by country list repeats the same rule for every country it names, from Austria and Belgium to Brazil, France and Germany.
- GCE was founded in 1990 and has been a NACES member since 2004.
Common reasons translations get rejected
- Translating the documents yourself. GCE's answer to that question is no.
- Sending only the translation. GCE wants the native language document and the certified translation together.
- A translation with no certification and no way to identify the translator. GCE's rule names the ATA, and a translation that cannot show who made it cannot show that.

For documents from China GCE also requires verification reports issued in English; the translation rule is the same.

Common questions
- Does GCE accept translations from Eagle Translate?
- GCE accepts translations performed by an ATA certified translator, the university or the Ministry of Education. ATA certification is an individual exam credential, and Eagle Translate holds ATA corporate membership; the translator who certifies your document is named on the certificate with the member number on the letterhead. GCE decides each file; we do not give legal advice.
- Does GCE need a notarized translation?
- GCE's published rule is about who translates, not about a notary. Our certificate is signed by the translator. We do not currently offer notarization; if another receiver insists on it, email us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
- Can my university's English version replace the translation?
- A translation issued by the university is one of GCE's three accepted sources. If your university will not issue one, the ATA route is the one we can help with. Eagle Translate is an ATA Corporate Member, the translator is named on the certificate, and GCE decides whether that meets its rule.
- How much does the translation cost and how long does it take?

- Can GCE verify the certificate?
- Yes. Each certificate carries its own number and a QR code that lead to eagletranslate.com/verify, where the number is confirmed against our records.
A translation error is ours to fix
If your certified translation is rejected because of a translation error we made, we correct it at no charge, and if the corrected translation is rejected again for that same error we refund what you paid for it. Our Refund Policy sets out the conditions and what it does not cover. Your documents are encrypted and kept confidential from start to finish.
