Certified translation for an IEE credential evaluation

International Education Evaluations (IEE) is a NACES member that universities, licensing boards and employers accept, and its rule on language is short. If your documents are not in English, provide certified word for word English translations, keep each translation with the original language record, and do not use uncertified or machine generated translations. Eagle Translate delivers a certified translation of the complete document, word for word with every seal and stamp described in place, as one PDF with a Certificate of Translation Accuracy signed by the qualified professional translator. Certified translation is $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, delivered in 2 to 3 business days, and STUDENT25 takes 25% off at checkout.

In their own words

What IEE says, in its own words

If your documents are not in English, you should provide certified word-for-word English translations that are available.

Certified and word for word are the two words that matter. Our certificate is the translator's signed statement that the translation is complete and accurate, and the translation reproduces every line of the source.

You cannot use uncertified or machine-generated translations. If your documents have not yet been translated, IEE offers a translation service that is built into our evaluation process.

IEE sells its own translations and also accepts certified ones you bring. Every Eagle Translate translation is prepared and certified by a human translator, and the certificate says so over the translator's signature.

If your documents are not in English, confirm whether certified English translations are required. Keep the translation with the original-language record.

Send the original and the translation together. Our translation keeps the page structure of the original so IEE can read the two side by side.

Requirements

What an IEE evaluation requires of your documents

  • Documents not in English need certified word for word English translations.
  • Uncertified and machine generated translations are not accepted.
  • Each translation is kept with the original language record it translates.
  • IEE offers its own translation service inside the evaluation process for applicants whose documents have not been translated.
  • IEE is on the Florida Board of Nursing's list of board approved education evaluation providers, so a nurse applying in Florida can use an IEE report.
  • IEE is on the list of outside evaluation services the City University of New York accepts for applicants educated outside the United States.

Common reasons translations get rejected

  • A machine translation with a stamp on it. IEE names machine generated translations as unacceptable, and evaluators read the translation against the original.
  • A translation with no certification statement. Certified means the translator's signed statement of completeness and accuracy, not a company logo.
  • Sending a translation without the record it translates. IEE says to keep the translation with the original language record.
  • Translating the diploma but not the transcript. A course by course report is built from the transcript, and the grading scale on its reverse is part of it.

Good to know

Good to know about IEE

IEE is a NACES member. A school or board that asks for a NACES evaluation accepts an IEE report.

Florida's Board of Nursing lists IEE among its six approved evaluation providers, together with TruMerit (CGFNS), ERES, TEC (SpanTran) and Josef Silny and Associates.

A translation you bring is yours to keep. The same certified PDF serves the university, the board and the employer, so ordering it once outside the evaluation is usually the cheaper route.

Questions

Common questions

Does IEE accept translations from Eagle Translate?
IEE asks for certified word for word English translations and rules out uncertified and machine generated ones. Ours are certified by a named professional translator, word for word, on letterhead, from an ATA Corporate Member. IEE decides each file on its own; we do not give legal advice.
Should I use IEE's built in translation or bring my own?
Both are accepted. A translation you bring is a document you keep and can send to the university, the board and the employer as well; IEE's is tied to the evaluation. With STUDENT25 a one page diploma costs $18.71 with us.
Does IEE need the translation notarized?
IEE's published rule asks for a certified translation, not a notarized one. Our certificate is signed by the translator. We do not currently offer notarization; if another receiver insists on it, email us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Can I translate my own transcript for IEE?
IEE requires certified translations, and a translation you make yourself carries no independent certification. Order a certified one and keep it with the original record.
I am a nurse applying in Florida with an IEE report. What do I translate?
Your nursing diploma, your transcript with its grading scale, and your license or registration if they are not in English. Florida requires the evaluation report to reach the board directly from IEE; the translation is what IEE needs to build it.
How much does the translation cost and how long does it take?
$24.95 per page of up to 250 source words, in 2 to 3 business days, no certification fee. STUDENT25 takes 25% off; FREERUSH gives Premium 1 to 2 business day delivery at the Certified price. One code per order.
Can IEE verify the certificate?
Yes. Each certificate carries its own number and a QR code that lead to eagletranslate.com/verify, where the number is confirmed against our records.
