Certified translation for an ERES credential evaluation

Educational Records Evaluation Service (ERES), a NACES member since 1993 and one of the evaluators the Florida and Texas nursing boards approve, says documents not issued in English generally require a certified English translation, submitted with the original language documents. ERES sells its own translations at $39 per page and accepts certified translations from elsewhere; if a translation is not certified or cannot be verified, ERES may review it, for a $50 verification fee. Eagle Translate's translation is certified by a named professional translator, numbered, and verifiable at eagletranslate.com/verify, so ERES has what it needs to accept it. Certified translation is $24.95 per page of up to 250 words, in 2 to 3 business days, and STUDENT25 takes 25% off.

What ERES says, in its own words

Documents not issued in English generally require a certified English translation. ERES offers certified translation services and can handle translation together with your evaluation when needed.

Certified is the word. Our certificate is the translator's signed statement that the translation is complete and accurate, on letterhead, with a certificate number.

You may submit certified English translations with your original-language documents. If the translation provided is not certified or cannot be verified, ERES may need to review or verify the translation before using it for evaluation.

Verification is the test an outside translation has to pass. Every Eagle Translate certificate can be checked at eagletranslate.com/verify by its number, which is the kind of verification this sentence asks for.

Requirements

What an ERES evaluation requires of your documents

  • Documents not issued in English generally require a certified English translation, submitted with the original language documents.
  • If a translation is not certified or cannot be verified, ERES may review or verify it before using it; its verification fee for an outside translation is $50.
  • ERES's document requirements list official translations of documents not issued in English for both completed and ongoing programs, and note that licensure evaluations have their own document pages.
  • ERES is on the Florida Board of Nursing's list of approved evaluation providers and on the Texas Board of Nursing's list of approved credential evaluation services.
  • ERES has been a NACES member since 1993 and has operated since 1981.

Common reasons translations get rejected

  • An informal or self made translation. ERES's own guidance says informal translations are rejected and that evaluators require translations from qualified, independent professionals who certify their work.
  • Sending the translation without the original. ERES says the original transcript and its English translation must be submitted together.
  • A translation with no way to verify it. ERES reviews translations it cannot verify, for a fee and with added time; a numbered, signed certificate avoids both.
  • Expecting rush service to cover translation review. ERES says rush timeframes may not be met when a case needs translation review or other external processing.

Good to know

Good to know about ERES

ERES is an ATA Corporate Member and describes its own translations as ATA compliant with a certification statement and translator declaration, which is the same form our certificate takes.

ERES's fees are non refundable if a translation or evaluation is not accepted by a school, board, employer or agency, so it pays to get the translation format right before ordering the evaluation.

A nurse applying in Texas or Florida can use ERES for the board's credential evaluation; both boards require the report to reach them directly from the agency.

Certified translation with us is $24.95 per page of up to 250 words; STUDENT25 takes 25% off and FREERUSH gives Premium delivery at the Certified price. One code per order.

Questions

Common questions

Does ERES accept translations from Eagle Translate?
ERES accepts certified English translations submitted with the original language documents and reviews the ones it cannot verify. Ours are certified by a named professional translator at an ATA Corporate Member, numbered, and verifiable online by that number. ERES decides each file; we do not give legal advice.
Is it cheaper to translate with ERES or with you?
ERES charges $39 per page. We charge $24.95 per page, and $18.71 with STUDENT25, for a certified translation you keep and can send to the board, the school and the employer as well.
Does ERES need a notarized translation?
ERES's help center asks for a certified translation; its live pages do not require notarization. Our certificate is signed by the translator. We do not currently offer notarization; if another receiver insists on it, email us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
I am a nurse applying in Florida or Texas through ERES. What do I translate?
Your nursing diploma, your complete transcript with its grading scale, and your license or registration if they are not in English. ERES needs them to build the course by course report that the board requires it to send directly.
How long does the translation take?
Certified delivery is 2 to 3 business days; with FREERUSH, Premium delivery in 1 to 2 business days is charged at the Certified price through 31 December 2026.
Can ERES verify the certificate?
Yes. Each certificate carries its own number and a QR code that lead to eagletranslate.com/verify, where the number is confirmed against our records.
