What is a certified translation
A certified translation is a complete, word for word translation of a document accompanied by a signed certificate of accuracy. The certificate attests that the translation is complete and accurate, and it is what official reviewers look for first.

The two are often confused. Most offices require certified translation, and notarization is an extra layer only when the receiving office specifically asks for it.

The ATA is the American Translators Association, the leading professional body for translators in the United States. Eagle Translate is an ATA Corporate Member. Corporate membership is a company affiliation with the association. ATA certification itself is an individual credential, earned by a translator who passes the association's exam in one language pair and one direction, and the association does not certify companies. Your translation is certified by the signed certificate of accuracy that comes with it.
Yes. USCIS requires a full English translation of every foreign language document, together with a signed certification that the translation is complete and accurate and that the translator is competent to translate. Every Eagle Translate certified translation includes exactly that. If a government agency rejects one because of a translation error we made, we correct it at no charge, and if the corrected translation is rejected again for that same error we refund what you paid for it. Our Refund Policy sets out the conditions.
