When You Actually Need a Priority Translation

Premium is worth paying for when your deadline is inside three business days, and not otherwise. It costs $39.95 per page against $24.95 for the regular Certified service, and the only thing that extra $15.00 a page buys is position in the schedule. The translation, the review, the certificate of accuracy and the official template are identical. If you have four business days or more before the document has to be in someone else's hands, Certified reaches the same place for less money.

Count backwards, then decide

Work from the date the document has to be received, not the date you would like to have it. Subtract any mailing time if the office wants paper. Subtract the turnaround, which is two to three business days at Certified and one to two at Premium. Whatever is left is your buffer.

If the buffer at Certified is negative or zero, choose Premium. If it is one clear business day or more, Certified is the sensible choice and the difference stays in your pocket. Business days are Monday through Friday and public holidays do not count, which is where most of the miscalculations come from. What Premium changes

One thing. Your order is translated ahead of other orders in the queue and delivered in one to two business days instead of two to three.

What Premium does not change

• The translator, who is qualified and certified in your language pair either way
• The full review pass against your original document before anything is issued
• The signed certificate of accuracy with the translator's name, signature and date
• The official certified template and the formatting work
• How the translation is treated by the office receiving it

Nobody at an agency, a court or a university can tell which service level you paid for, and nothing about a Premium order makes it more likely to be accepted. Paying more does not buy a stronger certificate. It buys days. The three levels are compared line by line on the services and pricing page.

On a single certificate the decision is easy, since $15.00 to remove a day of risk from an immigration appointment is not a difficult call. On a twelve page order the gap is $180.00, and it is worth being honest with yourself about whether the deadline is real or just uncomfortable. Deadlines that justify priority

These are the situations where the extra rate earns its keep.

• A request for evidence with a stated response date that is days away
• A consular or biometrics appointment already booked, where arriving without the translation means rebooking
• A court filing deadline, where late and absent are the same thing
• A university admissions or credential evaluation cut off at the end of the week
• A property closing, employment start date or licensing board deadline that other people are scheduled around
• Discovering on a Wednesday that a filing due Monday needs a translation nobody had ordered

The common thread is that missing the date costs far more than the translation. A rebooked consular appointment can push a case by weeks. Against that, $15.00 a page is not really a cost.

Deadlines that do not

• No fixed date at all, just a wish to have it done
• A filing three weeks out, where Certified lands with two weeks to spare
• A document being gathered in advance alongside others that are not ready
• A translation for personal reference rather than submission, where Standard at $19.95 may be enough

If you catch yourself choosing Premium because it sounds safer rather than because the arithmetic requires it, choose Certified. The two to three business day window is a commitment, not a hopeful estimate.

A tight deadline on a large document

Premium turnaround holds across the order, so a thirty page document at Premium is still a one to two business day job. The limit is 50 pages per order.

If you are past 50 pages and short of time, do not split the work into separate orders hoping to game the queue, because sequential orders stack their windows end to end and you will arrive later than if you had asked. Contact us instead and the work can be scheduled properly against your date.

If a day and a half is still not enough

One to two business days is the fastest service we sell, and we would rather tell you plainly that a deadline cannot be met than take the order and miss it. If your date is tighter than the Premium window, get in touch before ordering. Sometimes there is room, sometimes there is not, and knowing which in advance lets you ask the receiving office for an extension while you still can.

It is also worth confirming what you actually need before paying for speed. If the office has asked for a certified translation, Certified and Premium both provide it, and Standard does not. If something goes wrong on a deadline order

If a certified translation is rejected because of a translation error we made, we correct it at no charge. If the corrected translation is rejected again for that same error, we refund what you paid for it, provided you tell us within 30 days and send the written rejection. The conditions are set out in the refund policy. A correction still takes time to do properly, which is another argument for ordering with a buffer rather than on the last possible day.
