Georgia is distinctive in that apostilles are issued by the Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority (GSCCCA), not the Secretary of State. The GSCCCA is the only agency that can issue apostilles in Georgia and Atlanta is the only location.

Publicly recorded documents such as vital records, court documents, and corporate filings must be official certified copies bearing the signature and seal of the issuing Georgia state or county official.
